1. So, I just created a new layout for my website. I've redone the code completely, and actually made it simpler. It isn't entirely finished, and I am open to change it still. If you could, take a look at it (just the link I provide, the links on the site still include data from my old site.) and let me know what you like/dislike about it, what should be added/removed/changed, and if it is broken in any browser that you have. Thanks! http://www.frohsenwebdesign.com/testing/main/
2. Thanks! After this and another post of mine, I think I've given up on keeping that layout...I'm working on a new one that has color and works the same in all browsers...which shall be fun. Thanks again.
3. Since upgrading to 7.0, I have not been able to download IE 6.0 to test my site. I was told by a friend that my website appears so you must scroll down past the Google ads to see the content. Could someone please confirm this for me and possibly take a screenshot? My email is bfrohs@frohsenwebdesign.com if you would like to submit screenshots. Thanks!
4. Alright, thanks! I pretty much did all of the styling last night, so I was expecting the complaints about the colors and things being too confusing. I'll work on it some more today and hopefully it'll be easier to read.
5. I've just created a new forum for my website (from scratch, all hand-coded) and I am just looking for some feedback on how it looks and if it is easy to navigate. Thanks! http://www.frohsenwebdesign.com/forum/
6. The original version of my website was heavily influenced by the website that obsidian used to have.  It has been changed around and updated many times since so it doesn't look as similar as it used to, but it still looks close to the same thing.  Thanks again for letting me use your website as a reference obsidian! Thanks for letting me know, would it be possible for you to send me a screenshot? Thanks!
7. http://www.frohsenwebdesign.com/ Could you please visit my website with any versions of any browser and let me know if there is anything wrong with how it looks? I'm looking more for browser errors rather than how it looks. Browsers already viewed in: Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP IE 7.0 on Windows XP Netscape 8.1 on Windows XP SeaMonkey 1.0 on Windows XP Mozilla 1.7 on Windows XP Opera 9.0 on Windows XP Amaya 9.5 on Windows XP
8. Could you guys let me know what the easiest way of customizing the Windows XP Start Menu logo is? I would like to create my own rather than use a premade logo. Thanks!
9. I found some that I think are it.  If anyone else wants to check them out, I'll post the names below.  All three can be found on downloads.com AquaDock ObjectDock - I think this one is it MobyDock
10. Alright, Thanks everyone. I'll let you know if I find it.
11. Alright, Thanks! I'll check out that menu and try to create one to suit this website.
12. Okay, I've been seeing people using Windows XP that have a menu at the top of their screen that is hidden until they move their mouse over it.  It is not just the normal Windows "Auto-Hide" menu either.  I'll try to explain the menu to the best of my ability.  When the mouse is moved over it, it slides down (similiar to the autohide), and about 6 logos appear.  There is no background, only the logos.  The program logos on the right and left are smaller than the ones in the center (kind of like they are on a horizontal wheel, know what I mean?), and when the mouse is moved to the right or left of the menu, the menu scrolls in that direction.  This looks like an excellent feature and if anyone could let me know where I could get this feature (or enable it if it already exists on Windows), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
13. Thanks, that helps with the portfolio section along the right side of the page, but I am still have troubles with the XHTML/CSS buttons in the footer.  Does anyone know how to fix this?
14. Well, change the width to 800px...beware, this will cut off portions of the site for those using 800x600 resolution still...Can't really help you any more than that without seeing the actually page that this is used on. Could you provide a link?
15. I agree with every part of your argument...except the Blue Pill...let's all take the Red Pill, know the truth...and do to IE users what has been done to people using 'Politically Correct' browsers...you know what I'm talking about..."Your browser is not supported. Please close this window and use Internet Explorer to access our website. Here is a link." Let's do that to them! (For the people who can survive without sales to IE users...To those of you who rely on people using IE for gaining clients...I'm sorry)
16. Opera/9.02 MSIE/6.0 Windows XP SP2 Windows Me Those are the browsers and operatings systems that I have found this error in.  I have looked over my css/xhtml many times and do not think it is an error in my code. Could you guys take a look at my website and see if you have the same error, and if you do, if you know a way to fix it. I have tried padding-bottom:0px on many different objects, still doesnt work. There is no error in Firefox (1.5.0.7). http://www.frohsenwebdesign.com/ The error can be seen below the XHTML 1.0 and CSS buttons in the footer of the page. In Opera, it is much easier to see because it simply overlaps the border with #eee below each of the three images. In IE, due to the CSS float bug, it just adds an additional pixel below the images, expanding the border 1px too far. Thanks!
17. the onmouseovers are used because without them, the main menu links (DOT, Home, Etc) would turn back to normal after moving the mouse out of them, rather than delaying and returning to the originally selected menu. The main menus are links so the client can include additional information along with the submenu links in the page. For example, clicking on DOT will provide a page with the links that are accessible via the submenu, along with some text explaining what DOT is. The menu is slow on purpose. Have you ever used a menu where you try to move the mouse over a submenu item and you accidentally mouseover one of the main menu links and the submenu changes? The large amount of javascript is to avoid this problem. The errors in the xhtml are due to empty UL tags, thanks for pointing this out to me. Thanks for letting me know that there are warnings, I used silktide and forgot to check for css as well. I'll have to redownload Opera and check out my site, thanks! The missing pages will be fixed as soon as I get in contact with the client again.
18. There will be images and more text in the future. This is basically just filler text until the client gets back with me. I'm looking for any suggestions whatsoever, whether if be on menu colors/style, page style, etc.
19. What's up with the boards lately? I remember when i would have 20 posts giving me suggestions and feedback...detailed feedback...not just "Looks ok." or "Looks good to me." Come on, please give me some real feedback. Tell me what specifically you liked/disliked about it. Disregard the username/password, there is no longer a prompt.
20. The link is corrected. The username and password are provided before the link.  Read the whole thing before clicking the link.
21. user: visitor pass: visitor site: http://www.frohsenwebdesign.org/marsh/ Could you guys take a look at this website that I'm working on and give me some feedback? Please pay special attention to the DHTML menu, layout, and color scheme.  Thanks!
22. Can someone let me know how I can send a HTTP request with PHP.  I would like to know because I have a sitemap for Google Sitemaps and I need to send a ping to Google when I update my sitemap and I don't want to do it manually every day.  Thanks in advance!
23. I'm a male programmer. Started HTML, CSS, and Javascript when I was 13, and began PHP last year. I'm 17 now, to be 18 on monday.
