I am tellin ya you are dealing with a real noob here, now I am getting this error: I have never seen a error like that in my life.
-
its looks good, so would I change it to $query = mysql_query("SELECT u.username FROM users u LEFT JOIN active_users a ON a.username=u.username WHERE a.timestamp < (NOW() - INTERVAL 5 MIN)");
-
users has all the username, password, level, id, timestamp and email. I am not sure what you are asking on structure, but it has the rows: username, and timestamp
-
aw, I feel retarded, but now I get this error. I have no idea what line 17 is saying. here is line 17 if (mysql_num_rows($query) > 0){ here is the full code <?php include "style/include/constants.php"; include "style/include/database.php"; /*if( !$conn ) die("Error connecting to MySQL host"); $db = @mysql_select_db("database",$conn); if( !$db ) die("Error selecting a database");*/ $query = mysql_query("SELECT username FROM table WHERE username='test1' and active_users < (NOW() - INTERVAL 5 MIN)"); if (mysql_num_rows($query) > 0){ echo "Test1 is Online"; } else { echo "Test1 is Offline"; } ?> Thanks Guys, you are great
-

-
I am a fairly new to PHP, and I want to write a IF statement. How can I pull information from a MySQL database, and write a if statement with that information. for example, I pull the username Lamez, from the database, and if Lamez is online, the statement will output James is Online, but if Lamez was offline the statement would output Lamez is offline. -Thanks Guys

HTML Code Right Smack In The Middle Of PHP Code
Lamez replied to cangrejero's topic in PHP Coding Help
use this print <<<RD POST YOUR HTML CONTENT HERE RD; -
Ok in my website I have a view_active.php that shows how many unregisters people are online, and how many members are online. here is the coding for that include "session.php"; echo "Registered Members: $database->num_active_users <br />"; echo "Guests: $database->num_active_guests<br /><br />"; code in action http://www.lamezz.com/newt/index.php anyways, my question is this how can I do that but see if a user is online, for example, If the user James was online the script would output James is: Online but if James was offline it would output James is: Offline I am a php noob, and I did not write the code for the view_active.php so if anyone has a solution that would be great, thanks!

lol you pointed out everything I am going to fix, and the funny thing about the logo is after I made it I took a look at it, and noticed the gradient was going the wrong way. These are things I can easily fix. Also are you talking about the bars that say: Welcome, Navigation, etc. ? Thanks for your input!!
-
sorry new link http://www.lamezz.com/newt/index.php
-
omg I love it Nice job
-
You have a neat layout, but your colors have burned holes in my eyes. I have a great connection to the internet, and it took a second or two for the images to load, you might wanna think about making them a little less quality. Your navigation bar is just a bunch of links, you should add some CSS there, and make some roll overs. Also you should think about changing your link colors and adding rollovers to them as well. Just my thoughts.
-
lol I am going to have to agree with them. Dull I suggest you add some icons on a navigation bar, and a neat little logo. its a good start.
-
In my last post I asked every on to take a look on the layout, well I did so my self and decided it was neat and all, but to blah. Well I came up with this one. please tell me what you think, none of the links work, except for the on in the footer Lamez's Corner: http://lamezz.com/newt/index.html

well ya I know a good amount of PHP, but this is way to advanced for me. I did modify some scripts, but now I cannot figure out what is wrong. It will not input anything into the database. They did work. I am not too sure what is wrong, I feel like I am close, but cannot put my finger on it.
-
well you see, I am a noob to PHP, and I do not understand this advance coding, I downloaded it from a website. I was just trying to seek some help. I will go else where.
