I voted for SMF as it is the forum software I use on my website I have looked at quite a few of the others but kept coming back to SMF 1.1.5 I did try to install SMF 2 but basically broke everything in the process (thank goodnes for DB Backups)

Hi all, nice to meet you :) My name is Jon I am 49 and live in Huddersfield West Yorkshire over in the UK I have been playing with PHP MySQL and HTML for around 5 years sadly my web design skills leave something to be desired so I tend to make use of free website templates and design around them no doubt I will have plenty of dumb questions for this community, I am trying to get an understanding of XML for use on my website I have also moved toward W3C compliance which is surprisingly difficult to do well, anyway, I'll stop now before I bore you all to tears ;) Jon

Hmm I have never heard of net beans before reading these posts, I'll have a look at it. At the moment I use DW CS3 and Vim for quick edits
