Does this mean it can be mixed and mashed with other XML-based markup languages (like, say, a set of locally defined mathematic tags)? One example I can think of is you need to place fields in a <fieldset> tag in strict, wherein 1.1 you don't need to. Only way to find out is make your strict document, and then run it through a validator.
