ditching tinyMCE

ober

Recommended Posts

So tinyMCE finally pissed me off.  They upgraded versions and all the calls are completely different.  Plus they did a bunch of other stuff that generally pissed me off.

So I found this: http://www.spaweditor.com/en/disp.php/en_products/en_spaw/en_spaw_about

Much better IMO and has a lot of the stuff (like a file manager) built in that tinyMCE had as a "plugin".

Just thought some of you might care.

Oh, got it... you have to click in the text area before the controls are enabled.

Problems I have with it:

1) The image editor doesn't have a file manager

2) I don't see an API for it.

3) "works decent" with AJAX is a major problem for me

4) It's not nearly as fully functioned as some of the other editors.
