ober
So tinyMCE finally pissed me off. They upgraded versions and all the calls are completely different. Plus they did a bunch of other stuff that generally pissed me off. So I found this: http://www.spaweditor.com/en/disp.php/en_products/en_spaw/en_spaw_about Much better IMO and has a lot of the stuff (like a file manager) built in that tinyMCE had as a "plugin". Just thought some of you might care. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109497-ditching-tinymce/ Share on other sites
zq29
That's quite cool, just had a play with their demo. I'm currently using FCKEditor, also having dropped tinyMCE about 12 months ago - I cant remember what it was that made me switch though. ober
Ick... I tried FCK for a while but got sick of it as well. I'm really liking this one so far. My clients seem to like the beta I've shown them in my CMS as well. Guest Xanza
My advise to you would be to use my friends microInline text Editor. Very lightweight with all the amenities of TinyMCE. http://nicedit.com/ Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109497-ditching-tinymce/#findComment-565099 Share on other sites
ober
That doesn't even have a fully functioning demo. And does it play well with AJAX? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109497-ditching-tinymce/#findComment-565130 Share on other sites
Guest Xanza
Your right, it has multiple working demo's.... :/ http://nicedit.com/demos.php And yes, it works decent with Ajax, known problems have been posted in the forums. ober
Oh, got it... you have to click in the text area before the controls are enabled. Problems I have with it: 1) The image editor doesn't have a file manager 2) I don't see an API for it. 3) "works decent" with AJAX is a major problem for me 4) It's not nearly as fully functioned as some of the other editors. sam06
I really enjoy that Nicedit, but I haven't a clue how to make it the full version. I can make it the normal version fine, and apply it to all text boxes- but don't know how to make them full featured- Any help? Many Thanks, Sam Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109497-ditching-tinymce/#findComment-565658 Share on other sites
