Hi, this website is targeted towards small businesses and website designers.

Does  it look appealing to that demographic?

A few points:

 

1) Why not open it up to more than NZ? You'd get more traffic and you could provide a very good service to a lot of folks if you get enough exposure and enough developers involved.

2) The design is kind of boring... I doubt many developers would take it seriously as-is.

3) For a range that starts at $1000 and jumps to $100k in a hurry, I'd expect to see more details. You could save the developer a lot of time by adding in more checkbox type questions like: hosting questions, technology preferences, experience of developer, quality requirements of the developer, etc.

 

I think this is a really good idea and I hope it takes off for you.

As the service is free, why not list the companies ure working. Show their details and probably a comment and rating system. Add also the option to choose companies u want to get quotes plus several other options to better specify the request (like suggested by ober) and im sure ull have a more interactive system. It seems like a nice idea, but i think it should be expanded to a lot more possibilities.

 

As for the design, it isnt quite appealing. Surely it is just a small site, but u can start off in a great way and continue even greater. As it is, the site looks more like a wordpress template.
