ryy705
Hello, Our school wants to send out emergency school closing messages to it's students via cellphone txt messages. But it seems that to send out sms from a server we need the msisdn cell phone number(the whole 15 digits) of a student. My question is how can we get this phone number? Should we ask the students to send us a sms first? Will this give us their msisdn number? Or is there another way to figure out the msisdn number from the regular number? Thanks in advance. fanfavorite
MSISDN = CC + NPA + SN CC - Country Code NPA - Number Planning Area SN - Phone Number So maybe call the phone company and find out this information. May be able to do a search as well. ryy705
So then the students would have to call and find out. Is there a way for our web application to find out what the entire number is based on the 10 digit phone number? fanfavorite
You can have the application find out what the entire number is based on the 10 digit phone number, however you need to have a database that has the other data (i.e. Canada is country code...). Acecare
i would do it like a mail way becuase u can send text messages via mail. I definitely agree with you. It is better if they send it via email. Email is very flexible and you can easily receive their message. .josh
Don't most schools ban cell phones or make students keep them off/in their locker or some shit? Is your school actually an exception?
