tibberous Posted July 11, 2008 Share Posted July 11, 2008 I am going to buy or build a new server. For $1000, I can get a dual, dual-core opteron with 4gig memory and a redundant 320gig hard drive. Ebay has some not-to-bad used servers - I could get a quad 1.4GHz XEON system for $200, put in hard drives for $100 more, and ram for $165. I dunno... $1000 is more than I was wanting to spend but a new, 2x dual-core opteron with 4 gig ecc would be a beast! I dunno... is $1000 a good price for a server?
