maxudaskin
I want to include a file from an unknown parent folder then into a folder called include. Here is the hierarchy: PARENT FOLDER - include - constants.php - functions.php - login.php -admin - index.php Ok, admin/index.php needs login.php, but it does not have the root url (defined in constants.php) and it does not know how many folders above the Parent folder there are. maxudaskin
But what if the actual hierarchy is: mcdonalds - sandwiches - beef - bigmac - site - index.php - admin - index.php - include - functions.php - constants.php Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/117884-include-file-from-parent-folder/#findComment-606384 Share on other sites
JasonLewis
Use full paths if it will get really confusing. Just some notes: ./ = Your current directory ../ = One directory lower ../../ = Two directories lower ../../../ = Three directories lower And so on... But I would recommend using the full file path.
