Most servers require perl scripts in cgi_bin, and its older so lots of new technology isn't incorporated yet. Its pretty much expected that servers come compiled with perl and ruby and such. But What i want to know, is what makes it better to use perl? I suggest you google around or just try the basics of Perl and see if you like it.
