Is there an way to get a nice clean drop shadow on a transparent image with out getting that disgusting white border around it or by coping the site background onto the image? I know you can with 24bit png. But, older browsers add a light background to the hold image frame area. Any help would be appreciated. thank you, Charlie. zq29 Posted September 15, 2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 Not going to happen, GIF files do not support alpha transparency, and only have a limited pallette of 256 colours. Although pointless, you can actually change the colour of the background on older browsers - Its the secondry/background colour set in your graphics package. They check the browser/version and if its an unsupported version of png w/alpha (like IE6) then it fixes them for that image. Search for 'PNGFIX'.
