Mchl
I use NetBeans 6.5 (not yet released, I use so called 'Milestone' version) Works good. Don't know if it's open-source, but it's free. http://bits.netbeans.org/download/6.5/m1/ Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125298-searching-for-a-good-php-editor/#findComment-647694 Share on other sites
olddocks
i did some research and found that Komodo IDE and PSpad are very good editors. There are many many ones (see here) and just my preference was free one. Maq
I also use NetBeans IDE and Dreamweaver. I like NetBeans the best out of free/non-free environments. Dreamweaver is good if you can cough up the money but NetBeans has everything you need and good online support. jordanwb
If you're using Windows then I highly recommend Notepad++ and if you're running Linux with Gnome environment I suggest Geany. kevin777
Notepad ++ is by far better then anything you could pay for. Also I have heard good things about 'Crimson Editor'... which is free open source. Maq
I love notepad++ for quick editing, but netbeans is good for maintaining projects and anything as far as organization goes. IMO...
