DamienRoche
I've been doing php for about a month and I think it's about time I bought a decent IDE. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm willing to fork out some serious doh..php is for life! Thanks. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125396-best-php-ide/ Share on other sites

DamienRoche
Thanks for the screenshot! I think I have to get it. I've been using notepadd++..good for syntax highlighting and sessions but that's about it. So do you think Zend would be considered the best? .josh
well...Zend does have the advantage of having some of the core php developers (the people who actually made php) on their staff... jonsjava
only because I'm used to it. next screen-shot: the plus side to ZEND vs html-kit: yes, you're seeing intuitive completion. it rocks (don't know the proper name, but it rocks none the less). Plus, if you can get your company to foot the bill, awesome! that's how I got my copy. JasonLewis
I use NP++, it's good enough for me. phpDesigner is another one you may consider. I've only seen my friend use it though, but it looked pretty decent. .josh
html-kit does have a good community that offers up a ton of mods and addons that do many things, including auto-completion. But anyways, zanus is right, we have a sticky for this stuff. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/125396-best-php-ide/#findComment-648332 Share on other sites

DamienRoche
Well I won't waste anyone's precious time for much longer. Just like to say I think I'm going to try html-kit with the auto-complete add ons and some others..if that doesn't touch me where it tickles I think I'll give zend a go. Also, this topic was moved and I only ever go into php help, being a noob and all, so I didn't even come into this board to post this. Being a coder you tend to have an eye for detail My mistake, next time I'll do a bit of searching on the forum. Thanks for the advice guys!
