HyperD
I've read around that ATI cards aren't the best for Linux, but I've been trying to play some basic packaged 3D games, But I get a really crappy framerate. Anywhere from 0 - 15fps. I've installed the latest proprietary one (Released Sept 17 or something) and still to no avail. Some system specs: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron ATI Radeon X1600 Pro ASUS SiS K7S41GX Motherboard 640MB RAM When this was running XP, I could run things like Doom 3 at med-High, NFS:MW med-high, Spore on Med-Low. steviewdr
Ya - ATI aren't very helpful on providing drivers to linux developers. As a result they have to be reverse engineered. Reverse engineering graphic drivers for 3d on linux is more work then. -steve Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/126564-ati-x1600-3d-problems/#findComment-654842 Share on other sites
