Riseykins
Do I need to ask my host to do this, or can I do this myself? My host take ages to reply, and it sucks. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/130950-installing-php-5/ Share on other sites
DarkWater
If it's a shared host, there's a really high chance you'd need to ask your host to do it. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/130950-installing-php-5/#findComment-679795 Share on other sites
Jeigh
Yes if it's a shared host you can't install it yourself. However, if it's a decent hosting company it should already be installed. Check in your control panel some will have an option to switch between PHP 4 / 5 if not just contact them and ask them about it. Mchl
Also try saving your scripts as script.php5 instead of script.php. If the hosts runs both PHP4 and PHP5, this is a common method to tell server which version to use.
