Stooney
I'm a pretty good comp tech, but I need some opinions on this. My gaming rig is acting quite strange. When I turn it on one of three things can happen, all appearing random. First, no video is displayed and the internal speaker just does one long faint beep indefinitely. Second, no video is displayed and I get an error code via the internal speaker, 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps. I believe that's VGA error for my bios. (CrashFree Bios2) Third, it will boot up just fine and there's no problems. When I want to turn it on, I just have to keep turning it on/off until it boots fine. I change nothing between each boot. Just keep trying. It takes about 5-10 tries to get it to boot. So where I'm kinda stumped is whether it's a motherboard or video card error. On a successful boot I will sometimes get a message saying the previous post failed or was interrupted. That could still be caused by either mobo or vid. So have any of you encountered anything similar? I'm fine with replacing stuff but I just wanna replace the right parts Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/132023-comp-issue/ Share on other sites
wildteen88
If you have a spare video card, insert that. If your computer boots up fine then its your video card at fault. If doesn't then it could be your mobo. Also check that all your (power) connections are seating correctly Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/132023-comp-issue/#findComment-686041 Share on other sites
jcombs_31
I would also try to re-seat all cards, video, memory, etc... Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/132023-comp-issue/#findComment-686046 Share on other sites
