timmah1
I have a field in the database called 'title' I want to group these together if there are more than one I have two people in the database right now with a title of CLAMBAKE The problem I'm having is, it's only showing one of the people, not both. How can I view both people under CLAMBAKE? I'm using this $query="SELECT * FROM chairmen GROUP BY title"; Like I said, it shows the info, but for only one person Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/140229-solved-simple-group-by-queston/ Share on other sites
corbin
Errr.... I don't think you understand what GROUP BY does. It's purpose is to group things by a certain thing so that you can do stuff to other involved columns. I think what you're looking for is: SELECT * FROM chairmen WHERE title = 'CLAMBAKE'; Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/140229-solved-simple-group-by-queston/#findComment-733831 Share on other sites
timmah1
Then that's only going to get everything with the title is clambake. There are more items in the database, I was just hoping to group all the members who have the same title together.
