eddie21leeds Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 i am building a site and have validated the css and am including the button with a link to the validator. does this only work when the site goes live as opposed to on my local machine? because i tried it from my local machine and it just goes straight to the validator itself and not the usual confirmation screen i get when i upload the file? i am guessing that the site needs to be live for the links to work... cheers! Yes, the website needs to go live. The confirmation message only comes up if the validator can extract the file from a live server and read the file. The validator would have just extracted the file from your pc, but that would be a huge breach of security if it did that! I hope that clears things up.
