Best Window Manager and Organization Suite

I'm looking to find a better way to display my files and folders. I'm basically looking for something simple and organized but powerful too. I've been looking at different replacement shells for Windows and I've looked at different Window Managers for *nix but I can't seem to find anything that works perfectly for me. I kind of like Sony's XMB that they use on the PSP and PS3. Its organized but its very weak. If anyone knows of some really well designed windows managers for either Windows or *nix (Slackware) I would really appreciate the info.

Also, if anyone knows a good calendar, email and contact suite that's FOSS I'd love that too. I'm trying to get my life (computer) organized because I'm kind of all over the place as of late.

And to illustrate, I just realized that I left my CD collection with every *nix distro and every program I own at my parents place and I won't be able to get it for at least a week :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Oh. Another thing. I use mainly application launchers for nearly everything. I absolutely loved Quicksilver when I had my Macbook. Now I use Launchy on Windows and it works good for apps but it doesn't have the same ability to browse my folders that QS did. If a WM comes with something on par with QS it'd be great.
