Hello,

i know that there's some topics related with socket connection problems, but it is not exactly my case: i'm using Mac os x 10.4.11 with apache 1.3.41 PHP 4.4.9 and MySql 5.1.31, When i was testing in a browser a database i moved mysql.sock to /var/mysql/mysql.sock from /tmp/mysql.sock, so when i used mysql command i moved from /var/ to /tmp/ . But suddenly mysql command doesnt work, it gives this connection error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (61)

But in reality mysql.sock is actually in /tmp/mysql.sock .

Someone have a clue?

Thanks and greetings

the thing is that socket is actually in the right dir, but even if i move mysql.sock to /var/mysql/mysql.sock and use mysql-s /var/mysql/mysql.sock it keeps sending this message error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

thanks
