[SOLVED] Why is this sql query posting lots of '?''s ?

Because it's wicked, possessed, mad, crazy, pregnant... well... no idea really, because you did not post the query in question nor any other relevant information (like exemplary data)

What king of data are you getting from the database?  Is it HTML page content?

 

To me it looks like there are some characters that can not be displayed.

Try editing your data first by rewriting apostrophies, quotes and other symbolic notations like currencies again in an editor like dreamweaver then save it again in the DB or try using http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_entities.asp
