JPark
I want to build a search page that would query a database for a specific e-mail address (and return all data associated with that record). Rather than have the user type in an e-mail address (and risk mistyping it) <p> <input name="emailSearch" type="text" id="emailSearch" size="40" maxlength="40" /> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"> <input type="reset" name="Reset" value="Reset"> </p> I thought it might be useful to query the database, pull all the e-mail addresses and use them to automatically populate a list/menu. Then, they can just pull down the list, select the preferred e-mail and go from there. I am having trouble with the logic. Can someone walk me through it? Thanks! Maq
Try: $sql="SELECT emails FROM table"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); $num = mysql_num_rows($result); if($num > 0) { ?> while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { ?> } ?> } else { echo "Sorry, there were no matches for that email address."; ?>
