[SOLVED] Automatically populating a list/menu?

I want to build a search page that would query a database for a specific e-mail address (and return all data associated with that record).

 

Rather than have the user type in an e-mail address (and risk mistyping it)

 <p>
    <input name="emailSearch" type="text" id="emailSearch" size="40" maxlength="40" />
    <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
       
    <input type="reset" name="Reset" value="Reset">
  </p>

 

I thought it might be useful to query the database, pull all the e-mail addresses and use them to automatically populate a list/menu.  Then, they can just pull down the list, select the preferred e-mail and go from there.

 

I am having trouble with the logic.

 

Can someone walk me through it?

if($num > 0) {

  while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) {
