glenelkins
Hi Just a bit on info. I just noticed after god knows how many layouts i have created in the past, that background images in IE dont work when content is over the top, IF you have your decleration like this: background:url('../PATH/TO/IMAGE/FILE.PNG')no-repeat; For some reason, IE wants a space right before the "no-repeat" like so: background:url('../PATH/TO/IMAGE/FILE.PNG') no-repeat; otherwise it just tells you to do one!! very stupid issue there, i dont know if thats an IE bug or not but just in case anyone gets stuck with backgrounds not showing...there is your solution!! rhodesa
not a bug...there is supposed to be a space there. if it works in other browsers, they are just being nice. http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_background.asp Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/149671-something-stupidly-interesting-i-came-accross/#findComment-785921 Share on other sites
TheFilmGod
why do you enclose the file pathname in quotes? I thought the quotes were optional/unnecessary. glenelkins
the quotes are just personal preference, coding style etc Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/149671-something-stupidly-interesting-i-came-accross/#findComment-786530 Share on other sites
rhodesa
i'm pretty sure the quotes aren't CSS2+ valid either Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/149671-something-stupidly-interesting-i-came-accross/#findComment-786590 Share on other sites
