ionik
http://nwhiting.com Here is a Developers Portfolio CMS, it is built using the Zend Framework and will be released open-sourced in the near future, it is called Unus. The only frontend section completely done at this point is the RSS feeds, blog system and the about and contact pages, rest the backend is done working on frontend. Comments, Suggestions? Want to contribute? I welcome all Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/150025-critique-my-developers-portfolio-system-unus-and-my-portfolio/ Share on other sites
blueman378
Hi mate, Well looking around there are a few broken links. Eg code, your 404 page the suggested link shows http:/// i really dont like the javascript popup on the 404 page, the page itself is neat but the javascript popup... remove it. Infact looking through none of your links work, have these pages not been created yet or is your htaccess not working? do you need another developer for this project by any chance because the project looks neat? Didn't I say those do not work? If you get the 404 the htaccess is working, if you happen to read my post you would have read this using the Zend framework. If you are not aware htaccess is only needed for routing to the index file, and the routes you to those custom 404's, also right on the banner it says Alpha.1 (do you know what this means?) Here is a few links since you somehow could not find them http://www.nwhiting.com/blog/post/unus-the-developers-portfolio.html http://www.nwhiting.com/rss/blog.rss http://www.nwhiting.com/rss/blog/comments/my-custom-built-portfolo.rss http://www.nwhiting.com/blog/category/news.html Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/150025-critique-my-developers-portfolio-system-unus-and-my-portfolio/#findComment-788326 Share on other sites

Want to contribute? I welcome all I like it, with the exception of the header and footer blocks. They're too tall, and are just wasting a lot of space as is. It's especially noticeable when looking at your 'About Me' page. It feels as though I'm reading the info through a narrow slit. Also, not related to your project, but is the audio on your employer's page loud enough? I have my speakers set pretty low, and it still startled me. Adam
Definitely agree about the JavaScript pop up! Try entering an address, then before it loads, switch tab to... continue what ever you may have been doing. Very annoying! It's not valid HTML (despite the valid HTML implying logo in the bottom right). The font doesn't work for me. The images used in the design are very strong, present images and the text looks kinda frail and 'sketchy' in comparison.. I also agree the header and footer blocks are too tall - especially the footer. I think you could turn it into something very nice though with some more work! Adam It was valid when I first designed and sliced it, once Unus development is complete I'll go back and validate everything. The javascript popup is coming from Zend its a bug, its been fixed I havent updated that copy Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/150025-critique-my-developers-portfolio-system-unus-and-my-portfolio/#findComment-788734 Share on other sites
