ignace
Hey, I want to build a website which combines products from different shops (all hardware related) Anyone got any experience with this? Can i just use and show their products on my website? Or do i need a contract of some sort?
trq
Can i just use and show their products on my website? Your going to need to read the TOS for each site you plan on using. This is in no way related to Application design.
ignace
Well if application design isn't the correct forum which is? Because i don't see any other forums which are fit for these kind of questions. And actually it somehow does fall under application design as my question is part of the analysis process and the analysis process is part of application design. If i'm wrong please move it as i don't know which forum this topic falls under. By TOS you mean Terms Of Service?

By TOS you mean Terms Of Service? Yes, that would be a TOS.
ignace
What if none of these websites have a tos? But their products are listed on other websites? Can i then also just show their products?
Daniel0
No, you cannot. Just because it isn't explicitly said "© copyright, this is our stuff, do not copy" then it doesn't mean you are allowed to do it. You need explicit permission, not explicit prohibition. That's how I understand IP laws anyway, but I'm not a lawyer. If you want to be sure then ask a lawyer, or you know, ask the website owners. Ken2k7
Perhaps I'm just oblivious but how many types of lawyers are there? Or would any lawyer work for any situation?
Daniel0
Probably, though there are of course lawyers who specialize specifically in intellectual property.
