posting issues with Chrome

Recommended Posts

As of late, I am noticing some problems when posting. When spacing paragraphs for instance, I have to hit enter three times (once from the end of the last sentence and twice more) to achieve the one line's spacing in the preview with Chrome(2.0.172.33), where as in Firefox(3.5), I don't have this issue. Even posting code from my IDE to php bbc tags won't respect newlines in Chrome, but will in Firefox).

Another issue is with regards to posting urls.

So for example, in quick reply, I manually type in url bbc tags and make a link, and it will work fine in Firefox. But in chrome, it won't display properly at all:

PHP Freaks <---- Firefox

http://www.phpfreaks.com/]PHP Freaks[/url] <---- Chrome (I'm using Firefox for this post, so that is a cut and past from Chrome's version).

Even when it comes to cutting and pasting stuff from my IDE or from an online article, I am having issues. In the past, when pasting something into the post text field, it didn't matter what font face was being copied, it would be converted to match the font in the post text field.. but now I am seeing it is a different text, and when I preview, I'm getting all these font and size bbc tags and whatnot to accommodate it (this is in Firefox as well as Chrome).

Anyone else having these issues?

EDIT - I'm wondering if Chrome 2 being a beta has anything to do with it? Maybe I should try with Chrome 1.x just to see.

I'm using a random Chromium build from the other day, and I've never noticed any weird line spacing....

Before I switched from Chrome to Chromium though, input in all form fields was terribly slow.  Perhaps there're just some issues in the latest Chrome release...

I'm even having some problems in Firefox (3.5) now.. when posting a solution say in the regex forum, and I post a pattern with some backslashes, in the post preview pane, those backslashes are ignored (missing in other words).. so now I have be extra cognizant about backslashes and re-enter them prior to hitting the 'Post' button for example.. man this is frustrating. I really don't know why as of late I'm having all these issues.

EDIT - This particular issue goes for Chrome and FF
