Real World
I've not used apache for a while but when I came back to it recently I found it is behaving very oddly. I've updated to the latest versions and even uninstalled and reinstalled to try and solve the problem. Basically the url http://localhost does not work however http://127.0.0.1 does. My suspicion was these entries in the conf file: Listen 80 ServerName :80 I tried changing them to Listen localhost:80 and Servername localhost:80 as well as combinations of the two but without success. ANy suggestions? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/177409-solved-localhost-problem-on-vista/ Share on other sites
trq
Take a look at your hosts file. You'll need to search for it (im not sure where it is on vista). It should read... 127.0.0.1 localhost The file is called hosts, no extension. cags
Seems the OP has found it but for the benefit of anyone else, I believe on XP and Vista the hosts file is located in the same place by default... \windows\system32\drivers\etc Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/177409-solved-localhost-problem-on-vista/#findComment-936634 Share on other sites
