gergy008
I would think that a function like this: function create_file($filename) { $f=fopen($filename,"w"); fclose($f); } Would create a new file if I called it with say this: create_file("statuses/gergy008.txt"); It would create a file where I called it, But it doesn't, It just returns this error: Warning: fopen(statuses/gergy008.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied How can permissions be denied if it doesn't exsist yet? The folder is on full permissions... mrMarcus
statuses folder must already exist for this to work. look into mk_dir to make directories, otherwise, create the folder 'statuses" first. premiso
Check the permission of statuses folder, it would need to be 0777 for it to be writeable. There is nothing wrong with the code (just tested it on my local server) so the issue lies with permissions as the error states. EDIT: Also if the file already exists make sure those permissions are set alright, as that could be a problem as well since it is technically opening the file for writing.
