I have been programming computers for a many years. I am a long time musician and geek. I do dev work in the Internet industry as well as the gaming industry. I run a large worldwide association of aviation enthusiasts comprised of folks from over 70 nations. My website regarding that gets around 1.5 million hits a month. I am diving deep into PHP to learn and enjoying it. I am interested in creating web applications. I felt it would be good to find a community that is supportive and learns together. After a good search I decided that since I am a freak, this would be the best choice. So, here I be.. Great resource! Thank you! Just to be clear, a 'hit' by web terms is the retrieval of an item (such as the page itself, or an image, etc..) from a web server. So visiting a web page with 10 images is regarded as 11 hits. The term is often (and erroneously confused) with 'unique visitors'. They are not one and the same, and are thus not interchangeable. Now, if you have 1.5 million unique visitors per month, that's impressive indeed! In any case, welcome and enjoy your stay!
