hi, im learning php and going to school even for web dev, and im worried that a few years down the road i will be replaced by someone in india that is charging 5 dollars an hour for his work. the usa companies are already doing this with customer service people in companies. i live in the USA. please if anyone knows the answer to this, please put my mind at ease. i hope. thank you. derek :D

That will never happen, for a few reasons:

1) The workforce is cheaper but so is the quality;

2) Different countries have different standards. US quality advertising works only in the US, US design works only for US customers;

3) Tricky to manage an offshore development team (least misinterpretation can lead to a wrong application design);

4) Logistics;

5) Trust issues;

These are the few that popped in to my mind and their are probably more.

You would spend more getting here than you would ever extract here :D

We'll get it from your cars.

You'd still be in the red. Also, be careful when tinkering with LPG installations.
