pioneerx01
I am working on a simple gallery. I want to have an option to download full scale image without users having to right click and "save as". Using this code you get a image preview: <a href="pictures/img-(1).jpg"><img src="thumbnails/img-(1).jpg"></a> How can I modify it so when user clicks on thumbnail of image 1 it will prompt him to save the image instead of viewing it. Thanks
Rifts
I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use javascript and do something like I found this on another forum and have not tested it </head> <script> function saveImageAs (imgOrURL) { if (typeof imgOrURL == 'object') imgOrURL = imgOrURL.src; window.win = open (imgOrURL); setTimeout('win.document.execCommand("SaveAs")', 500); } </script> <body> <A HREF="javascript: void 0" ONCLICK="saveImageAs(document.anImage); return false" >save image</A> <IMG NAME="anImage" SRC="../apache_pb2.gif"> </body>
trq
Check out the 'force dowwload' script within the Faq/Code snippet repo board.
