hi everyone,

i'm looking for advice from anyone with experience

I have a website where users sell items locally. its pretty new and very empty.

and i have incorporated ebay api in the site to display ebay items as well that are local

now, should i add ebay items into my site as if they are being sold on my site? becuase when they click the item they are sent to the auction on ebay.com.

OR

should i have the ebay items under my items with a title like "Sponsored Items" or "Other Items" etc....

for example if users are look for cars --- they would click cars category and it would list

all the cars being sold by my users. then it would break with a title "Sponsored items" and would list ebay items

please let me know what you think and how you would do the work.

THANK YOUUU!!!

@SemiApocalyptic

your right. I don't want to trick my users into thinking they were mine. if they wanted to buy from ebay they would go there. I'm trying to figure out how i can add ebay to my site to just make it look like its active.

I want to make visitors think that the site has many users so that they can sign up. My biggest problem with the site is finding people who actually want to post items and sell

@ejaboneta

lol i wasn't really sure what to call them. calling them eBay items is too easy for the visitor. i want them to guess, then click it and become surprised...lool

but here is my other question now

Should I make it obvious? Like have the ebay logo or should I just have it say in one line "eBay Items" or maybe I can say "Items From Other Sources" something of that nature

thanks guys!!

I'd like to suggest displaying them the same, so your site doesn't look all mixed up and messy. But have an icon to symbolize local items, and an icon to symbolize ebay items.  Maybe when you hover over/display it, it'll tell you more details of the difference between local and ebay items.

Also should be able to narrow searches down between just ebay or local items. It could work just like categories, and each category has a unique icon. Obviously, the ebay icon should be a shrunken version of the ebay logo (if they let you do that).
