chaseman
I know it's under a GPL license, but I'm wondering how all programmers around the world work on wordpress and contribute their ideas to the project. Are they submitting their ideas and works to the core wordpress team and they're deciding whether to accept and implement or simply neglect the idea? How else would it work? trq
This is all covered in the docs. http://codex.wordpress.org/Contributing_to_WordPress#Development_and_Testing Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/226616-how-does-wordpress-development-work/#findComment-1169611 Share on other sites
chaseman
Thank you for that, I should have looked there first. Now it makes a bit more sense. As I've understood that article, most people are just contributing here and there, like feature ideas, planning, bug-fixing, testing, translating etc. Because I thought there are programmers contributing in creating the actual code for the actual Wordpress functionality, instead it's about gathering ideas and mostly small functions and other details. The Wordpress team seems to still do the core of Wordpress themselves. It's fascinating how they have gotten a well rounded project with worked out details. Thanks for the link though.
