Worqy
Hi. I have a poblem with my textarea. I load some text from a file into a textarea, but when I do so there comes some empty space before the text. The empty space that comes is about as much as 3 tap clicks. Whats the problem? requinix
Tap clicks? If trim doesn't help, post your code. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/229064-textarea-problem/#findComment-1180555 Share on other sites
Worqy
Okey, here is the code: $data = readtext($_POST['files']); ... <textarea cols="100" rows="30" style="color: white; background-color: gray" name="txtcode"> <?php echo $data; ?> </textarea> function readtext($file) { $fh = fopen('./Data/' . $file, 'r'); $data = fread($fh, 1000000); fclose($fh); return $data; } Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/229064-textarea-problem/#findComment-1180697 Share on other sites
flolam
as requinix already said, use trim($data) Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/229064-textarea-problem/#findComment-1180710 Share on other sites
haku
If you have a space between the opening and closing textarea tags, this will become a space inside the textarea. Usually whitespace doesn't matter in HTML, but it does with textareas. Remove all whitespace and have the tags one after the other like this: <textarea name="something"></textarea> Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/229064-textarea-problem/#findComment-1181251 Share on other sites
