RLJ
Hi all, So I have a table where some rows are set to style="display:none" (then a javascript function unhides them when an "expand" button is clicked), will text inside these rows still be found by search engines such as google? If not, is there a better way to hide this text from the user? Thanks! Pikachu2000
If you can see it in View ---> Source, so can a search engine spider. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/232645-is-hidden-text-found-by-search-engines/#findComment-1196613 Share on other sites

Web Developer
Hi all, So I have a table where some rows are set to style="display:none" (then a javascript function unhides them when an "expand" button is clicked), will text inside these rows still be found by search engines such as google? If not, is there a better way to hide this text from the user? Thanks! Yes.. Google can easily read hidden text. Don't use it as it is considered as a part of "Black Hat SEO" and Google would penalize your site for this. spiderwell
so having divs that toggle from hidden and visible could affect your SE rankings? only i have made many pages in the past where i have a list of items than when clicked 'show' the div containing the relevant info, and hide all the others (all divs positioned in same place) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/232645-is-hidden-text-found-by-search-engines/#findComment-1200040 Share on other sites
