Well it varies from site to site, like most of medical related sites you will see using green and white, but if you will go in specific regional site like medical site in Canada, they will be using green, red and white. So it varies, but most of them use green and white.

the right type of green is relaxing for the eyes, and blood is less gore on a green background. (but not just any green choose the right one, more pastel) although there is a trend to use a typical shade of purple too.
