Daniel0
On my Windows XP installation there is a program called searchindexer.exe that keeps running in the background. It ends up using like 100 mb of memory and if I terminate the process it just restarts again. Do anyone know which program that uses it, or if it is one of Windows' programs, how do I shut it off? ober
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/searchindexer/I'm not sure how you're getting that on an XP machine. Everything I found on google (something YOU could have done) says it's a Vista app. However, I'd assume you can probably go into the services viewer and disable it: Start->Run->services.msc and look for it.EDIT: also found this: http://www.futuremark.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9738Are you using the Office 2007 beta? Daniel0
Yeah I use Office 2007 Beta 2. Hmm, according to the last link you showed there is no solution other than uninstalling it :( Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/23543-searchindexerexe/#findComment-106916 Share on other sites
ober
Or letting it run it's course and finish indexing (not sure how long that takes). Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/23543-searchindexerexe/#findComment-106943 Share on other sites
Daniel0
Hmm, yeah... I wonder what it is indexing because I have indexing turned off in Windows.
