Greetings, I am working on a dynamic driven website. I was getting the message that the webpage could not find the script so, according to my webhost, I put the path of (/home/users/web/b195555/jpg.atlanticdrivingschoo into my script now I get the error message

Error unexpected '/', expecting ')'

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I am new to php and greatly appreciate the help I have attached the code in  a file . Thank you so much

Scott

Sounds like you are trying to pass a string without making it a string!

Try

('/home/users/web/b195555/jpg.atlanticdrivingschoo')

You have to enclose the path in Double Quotes ( " ) or Single Quotes ( ' ) if you are passing it as a parameter!

I Agree with Jumpy09.

this: (line 16 of your file)

define('JPATH_BASE', dirname(/home/users/web/b195555/jpg.atlanticdrivingschoo) );

should be :

define('JPATH_BASE', dirname("/home/users/web/b195555/jpg.atlanticdrivingschoo") );

P.S. are you really coding in MS Word ?

WoW if you are coding in MS Word I feel for you.

I recommend Notepad++ because the syntax highlighting covers a vast assortment of different codes.  There are other programs out there to code in, but anything with Syntax Highlighting, if you can get a source previewer that doesn't hurt but it can sometimes prevent certain methods of coding unless it allows for includes and such.

Definitely get something with syntax highlighting, it will be much more visual so that you can see potential syntax errors.  It isn't perfect, but it would have definitely of made that one stand out.  (( Notepad++ would have, some Syntax Highlighting programs are not as in-depth as it is.  Of course it isn't perfect and does have some flaws, but you can always set your own things to include in the syntax highlighting.. so it's nice. ))
