Tondo
Hi, I downloaded Apache via OSGeo4W installer and I try to execute cgi scripts. I set ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "C:\_SOFT\OSGeo4W/bin/" I made simple script... #!C:/_SOFT/OSGeo4W/bin/python.exe -u print "Content-type: text/html\n\n"; print "Hello, World."; it seems it works! Okay something little bit complicated: #!C:/_SOFT/OSGeo4W/bin/python.exe -u print "Status: 200 OK" print "Content-type: text/plain" print "It works!" Now I get "200 OK" and under that is: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, admin@local.domain and inform them of the time the error occurred and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. I'm noob in that, not sure it's even apache configuration problem. If not, corret me plz. Thanks Tom Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/250642-apache-windows-cgi/ Share on other sites

requinix
You can edit your posts but only for a short period after posting. You need to send proper headers with your response. Try #!C:/_SOFT/OSGeo4W/bin/python.exe -u print "Status: 200 OK\r\n" print "Content-type: text/plain\r\n\r\n" print "It works!" (Each header needs a \r\n after it, and a second \r\n after the last one.) Tondo
You meant this: print "Status: 200 OK" print "Content-type: text/plain\r\n\r\n" print "It works!" if \r\n on status, it won't print status, but will print content-type... But what's wrong in this script??? - it's meant to be ProxyHost: #!C:/_SOFT/OSGeo4W/bin/python.exe -u import urllib2 import cgi import sys, os allowedHosts = ['www.openlayers.org', 'openlayers.org', 'labs.metacarta.com', 'world.freemap.in', 'prototype.openmnnd.org', 'geo.openplans.org', 'sigma.openplans.org', 'demo.opengeo.org', 'www.openstreetmap.org', 'sample.azavea.com', 'v2.suite.opengeo.org', 'v-swe.uni-muenster.de:8080', 'http://www.openplans.org', 'vmap0.tiles.osgeo.org', 'localhost', 'localhost:8080', 'localhost:7070', 'www.opengis.net','opengeospatial.org',] method = os.environ["REQUEST_METHOD"] if method == "POST": qs = os.environ["QUERY_STRING"] d = cgi.parse_qs(qs) if d.has_key("url"): url = d["url"][0] else: url = "http://www.openlayers.org" else: fs = cgi.FieldStorage() url = fs.getvalue('url', "http://www.openlayers.org") try: host = url.split("/")[2] if allowedHosts and not host in allowedHosts: print "Status: 502 Bad Gateway" print "Content-Type: text/plain" print print "This proxy does not allow you to access that location (%s)." % (host,) print print os.environ elif url.startswith("http://") or url.startswith("https://"): if method == "POST": length = int(os.environ["CONTENT_LENGTH"]) headers = {"Content-Type": os.environ["CONTENT_TYPE"]} body = sys.stdin.read(length) r = urllib2.Request(url, body, headers) y = urllib2.urlopen(r) else: y = urllib2.urlopen(url) # print content type header i = y.info() if i.has_key("Content-Type"): print "Content-Type: %s" % (i["Content-Type"]) else: print "Content-Type: text/plain" print print y.read() y.close() else: print "Content-Type: text/plain" print print "Illegal request." except Exception, E: print "Status: 500 Unexpected Error" print "Content-Type: text/plain" print print "Some unexpected error occurred. requinix
Forgive my Python naivete, I guess print includes newlines automatically. print "Status: 200 OK" print "Content-type: text/plain" print print "It works!" As for the error, [Mon Nov 07 20:26:30 2011] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] ImportError: No module named urllib2 It seems you don't have the urllib2 module. Tondo
As far I know proxy host for JavaScript is required if there are http xml request on different server. Let's say I'm using GeoServer as my map server. GeoServer uses port of 8080 so URL is localhost:8080/geoserver. My apache is using port of 80 so URL is localhost:80 (or simply localhost). I hoped I could set my GeoServer as virtual host and set proxy request. So I opened C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and add line 127.0.0.1 gserver . Then I opened httpd.conf file and added this: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName gserver ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /geoserver http://localhost:8080/geoserver ProxyPassReverse /geoserver http://localhost:8080/geoserver </VirtualHost> But apache service wont even start. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Tom Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/250642-apache-windows-cgi/#findComment-1290394 Share on other sites
requinix
The issue is actually with domain names, not the servers. So you can't do an AJAX request to http://gserver from http://localhost. The only thing you need to add to you original localhost VirtualHost is a ProxyPass that looks like ProxyPass /geoserver http://localhost:8080/geoserver Don't need another virtual host. Then you do an AJAX request to http://localhost/geoserver/whatever and Apache will (reverse) proxy it to GeoServer. Tondo
okay, so I added to my conf file this: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot c:/_SOFT/_SCRIPTS ServerName localhost </VirtualHost> and then simply add to virtual host this? proxyPass /geoserver http://localhost:8080/geoserver dont forget I'm using Win7... requinix
The only thing you need to add anywhere is the ProxyPass directive. Nothing else changes. Not adding another VirtualHost. Not adding anything else except that one line. If by "I added to my conf file this" you mean "this was already in my conf file" then yes, that's where you add it. Tondo
Okay I'm lost I tried a lot without any success ... Could you point me pls where do I need to put that line? # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information. # In particular, see # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html> # for a discussion of each configuration directive. # # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure # consult the online docs. You have been warned. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log" # with ServerRoot set to "C:\_SOFT\OSGeo4W/Apache" will be interpreted by the # server as "C:\_SOFT\OSGeo4W/Apache/logs/foo.log". # # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache"). # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which httpd.exe is located # will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion. # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile. # ServerRoot "C:\_SOFT\OSGeo4W/Apache" # # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost> # directive. # # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses. # #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 Listen 80 # # Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support # # To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you # have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the # directives contained in it are actually available _before_ they are used. # Statically compiled modules (those listed by `httpd -l') do not need # to be loaded here. # # Example: # LoadModule foo_module modules/mod_foo.so # LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so LoadModule alias_module modules/mod_alias.so LoadModule asis_module modules/mod_asis.so LoadModule auth_basic_module modules/mod_auth_basic.so #LoadModule auth_digest_module modules/mod_auth_digest.so #LoadModule authn_alias_module modules/mod_authn_alias.so #LoadModule authn_anon_module modules/mod_authn_anon.so #LoadModule authn_dbd_module modules/mod_authn_dbd.so #LoadModule authn_dbm_module modules/mod_authn_dbm.so LoadModule authn_default_module modules/mod_authn_default.so LoadModule authn_file_module modules/mod_authn_file.so #LoadModule authnz_ldap_module modules/mod_authnz_ldap.so #LoadModule authz_dbm_module modules/mod_authz_dbm.so LoadModule authz_default_module modules/mod_authz_default.so LoadModule authz_groupfile_module modules/mod_authz_groupfile.so LoadModule authz_host_module modules/mod_authz_host.so #LoadModule authz_owner_module modules/mod_authz_owner.so LoadModule authz_user_module modules/mod_authz_user.so LoadModule autoindex_module modules/mod_autoindex.so #LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so #LoadModule cern_meta_module modules/mod_cern_meta.so LoadModule cgi_module modules/mod_cgi.so #LoadModule charset_lite_module modules/mod_charset_lite.so #LoadModule dav_module modules/mod_dav.so #LoadModule dav_fs_module modules/mod_dav_fs.so #LoadModule dav_lock_module modules/mod_dav_lock.so #LoadModule dbd_module modules/mod_dbd.so #LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so LoadModule dir_module modules/mod_dir.so #LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so #LoadModule dumpio_module modules/mod_dumpio.so LoadModule env_module modules/mod_env.so #LoadModule expires_module modules/mod_expires.so #LoadModule ext_filter_module modules/mod_ext_filter.so #LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so #LoadModule filter_module modules/mod_filter.so #LoadModule headers_module modules/mod_headers.so #LoadModule ident_module modules/mod_ident.so #LoadModule imagemap_module modules/mod_imagemap.so LoadModule include_module modules/mod_include.so #LoadModule info_module modules/mod_info.so LoadModule isapi_module modules/mod_isapi.so #LoadModule ldap_module modules/mod_ldap.so #LoadModule logio_module modules/mod_logio.so LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so #LoadModule log_forensic_module modules/mod_log_forensic.so #LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so LoadModule mime_module modules/mod_mime.so #LoadModule mime_magic_module modules/mod_mime_magic.so LoadModule negotiation_module modules/mod_negotiation.so #LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so #LoadModule proxy_ajp_module modules/mod_proxy_ajp.so #LoadModule proxy_balancer_module modules/mod_proxy_balancer.so #LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so #LoadModule proxy_ftp_module modules/mod_proxy_ftp.so #LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so LoadModule setenvif_module modules/mod_setenvif.so #LoadModule speling_module modules/mod_speling.so #LoadModule ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so #LoadModule status_module modules/mod_status.so #LoadModule substitute_module modules/mod_substitute.so #LoadModule unique_id_module modules/mod_unique_id.so #LoadModule userdir_module modules/mod_userdir.so #LoadModule usertrack_module modules/mod_usertrack.so #LoadModule version_module modules/mod_version.so #LoadModule vhost_alias_module modules/mod_vhost_alias.so <IfModule !mpm_netware_module> <IfModule !mpm_winnt_module> # # If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run # httpd as root initially and it will switch. # # User/Group: The name (or #number) of the user/group to run httpd as. # It is usually good practice to create a dedicated user and group for # running httpd, as with most system services. # User daemon Group daemon </IfModule> </IfModule> # 'Main' server configuration # # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main' # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a # <VirtualHost> definition. requinix
To keep the original httpd.conf as "clean" as possible, create another .conf file for settings that you add. Near the end of httpd.conf is a bunch of Include directives: put another one at the end for your new .conf. Inside that new file put the ProxyPass I posted, then reload/restart Apache.
