tendouser
Does anyone know why is this happening when starting FF in Ubuntu Oneric? Profile couldn't be created. Probably the chosen folder isn't writable. [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED) [nsIToolkitProfileService.createProfile]" nsresult: "0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://mozapps/content/profile/createProfileWizard.js :: onFinish :: line 233" data: no] I have to launch FF with gksu command from terminal. Thanks for your comments!
QuickOldCar
I'm no expert at this. But I do know that firefox locks files, it seems that you have no permission through JS for that user in firefox.
trq
I have to launch FF with gksu command from terminal. That alone sounds like a bad idea to me. Anyway, FF needs to be able to write to a profile directory normally stored within a users ~/ somewhere. It appears you do not have permission to write to or create this directory. Why would you need to run FF as root?
