making a select input dynamic

i would like to make a select field in my form pull data from my database.

 

im okay at the php required to return the results (i think)

 

but, how do i make it so that when a user selects an option to update the form.

 

for example, if i wanted to edit a user, i would select the user from the list. and it would pull that users info into the form?

You'd either use AJAX or load a new page.
