edahani Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Hello everyone, First of all, I am using MySQL version 5.5.21-55. Now my problem is, I have an old database which has tables prefixed as wp_. I have forms, etc within the db. I have recently changed my hosting and therefore transferred my site over. I am using Wordpress. My new hosting (unfortunately) I have set the tables prefix as bawp_. Now I realized I have duplicate tables everywhere and the old one doesn't work (obviously). I am not that familiar with databases (never was my favorite subject in college ) and I am using phpMyAdmin currently. Can someone guide me what to do step by step as I really don't want to mess up the database I have. Thanks! Christian F. Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Make a dump of the old database, then run a search-and-replace on the table prefix. Once you've replaced the old with the new, you can simply import it without any further ado. Or at least, that's the theory.
