mysql select query + php

i am creating a drop box list with php and mysql to select data from the database .  

table name : specialization

fields: specialization_id, specialization_name

 i want that in the user table iit must contain the **specialization _id**  

but this selection from the specialization table did not work can anyone help me ???

None of that code has anything to do with a "user" table...
