creating php files with php

Hi All

I have a a directory website but numereous listings don't have their own website so they are requesting a single page to show a summary of their business and products.

I know how to do most of it the part I am unsure of is:

I have a form where they upload text, images, etc to a database and upload the images. what I would like to do is to save it as a file under a subdirectory. Is it possible to save a file php file using php

You could build a single page that's populated based on your database? Basically, you build a page that has a space for the summary, images, etc. Then a database row ID is passed to the page which references the business information to show. The ID is used to query the database and retrieve the business information to fill in the spaces.

Thank you, I thought of that approach but the only issue I have with that is how would the client access the page outside of the site. would it be something like this:

www.somedomain.com/buspage.php?usrid=(then the client id)

You could do somedomain.com/clientname and use mod_rewrite (via .htaccess) or some other "friendly" url scheme to push all request to one file, which you use to look up the client's details in the db.

 

Also consider looking into WordPress, which has multisite functionality, and auto sign-up options as well.
