KingNeil
I have been using PHP CURL to obtain stock data... The URL is https://trade.plus500.com/ClientRequest/GetChartDataTickImm?InstrumentID=1350&InstrumentName=Facebook Essentially, it is supposed to return date, time, and price of stock tick data But it returns stuff like "HrCy/h6wsw4esLL+HrCzDh6wsw4esLMOHrCzDh6wsu4esLLeHrCy7h6wsu4esLL" So... I would like to know, what is this format, and how do I decode it? Thanks Here is the full response.... {"InstrumentName":"Facebook","InstrumentID":1350,"StartPointDate":"2014-12-19 20:42:45.837","LastPointDate":"2014-12-19 Jacques1
Do you have permission to fetch this data? Then read their API manual or ask their support for help. Or did you never ask them and simply decided to scrape their website? Then I recommend you don't do that. Some companies don't find that funny, especially when you start breaking their obfuscation techniques. KingNeil
It's absolutely no different than if I loaded the page in a browser I was just wondering if this is a common format that anyone here recognises Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/293211-help-decoding-php-curl-response/#findComment-1500258 Share on other sites
Frank_b
It is JSON and the strings are encrypted. KingNeil
What type of encryption? AES etc? Fact is, this data ends up being decoded into a stock chart on the client side, so if it is encrypted, I can likely find the key Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/293211-help-decoding-php-curl-response/#findComment-1500270 Share on other sites
bsmither
Running the string through base64_decode() returns what looks like, in my opinion, chart data using a certain chart app syntax -- as opposed to a CSV-style of a data set. So, I would think the correct web page (not the /ClientRequest/ URL) will have the javascript necessary to draw the chart with the fetched data.
