funderboltz Posted December 28, 2014 Share Posted December 28, 2014 I don't know how to solve this error; Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$db' (T_VARIABLE) code: <?php $connection = mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") $db = mysql_select_db("company", $connection); session_start(); $user_check = $SESSION['login_user']; $ses_sql = mysql_query("select username from login where username ='$user_check", $connection); $row = mysql_fect_assoc($ses_sql); $login_session =$row[username]; if(!isset($login_session)){ mysql_close($connection); header(('Location: Index.html')); } ?> Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/293451-error-in-my-login-session/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
ginerjm Posted December 28, 2014 Share Posted December 28, 2014 Your message should also be showing you a line number. That would point you to that first use of $db. Looking closely you should then note that the line before $db doesn't end properly. Case solved. QuickOldCar Posted December 28, 2014 Share Posted December 28, 2014 Doesn't this throw and error as well? $ses_sql = mysql_query("select username from login where username ='$user_check", $connection); Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/293451-error-in-my-login-session/#findComment-1500953 Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jacques1 Posted December 28, 2014 Share Posted December 28, 2014 ... and “$SESSION” and “mysql_fect_assoc” and “$row[username]” ... Your really need to write your code more carefully. If you tend to make lots of typos, slow down and double-check each line before you go on. I also recommend that you use an IDE like Netbeans instead of a simple text editor. This will help you recognize obvious mistakes as you write, so that you don't have to hit F5 in your browser all the time. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/293451-error-in-my-login-session/#findComment-1500972 Share on other sites More sharing options...
