Maze
dear phpfreaks i need to set up the server for a wp installation WordPress is the most popular CMS (content management system) used on the internet today. While many people use it because it is powerful and simple, sometimes people make a trade-off for convenience at the expense of security. There are some questions that arise: how we need to choose to assign directory ownership and permissions, and how we choose to perform upgrades. There are a variety of different methods to do this. i want to choose a relatively secure way of upgrading and installing themes and plugins. Can i do this with – filezilla – WinSCP what is needed on the server to do this – which apache modules: do i need suPHP for example? love to hear from you Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/303466-make-server-compatible-with-wordpress-automatic-updates-and-plugin-installation/ Share on other sites
maxxd
Some good advice on this can be found here - you can set directory and file permissions with FileZilla, of course, or manually through the command line if you have root access to your server.
