[SOLVED] implementing php on a website

Recommended Posts

I may be really dumb but I can't find out how to do it. In the past i've used I-Frames but is there anyway I can just have the code there or have it link to my server without I-Frames? The I-Frames screw the stuff up in IE.

Heres what i mean:
<html>
!--Snipit here--!
<p class="Small Black IndentedL015">The Server Is Currently:
!--PHP Script Starts here--!
<?php
if (date('w') == 5 && date('G') >= 20 && date('G') <= 22)
{  $imgurl = "Online URL.gif";
}
else
{  $imgurl = "Offline URL.bmp";
}
echo "<img src=\"$imgurl\">";
?>
!--End PHP Script--!
!--More HTML--!
<BR><BR>
Blah blah blah
<BR>
</html>
Like such?

if that is the case then php is not parsing the file. The filename should end '.php' (unless you have configured your server to get php to process other file extensions!) If it is called xxx.php then php is not installed/running on your server.
